What is the Roots stack?
The Roots stack consists of three open-source projects: Trellis (server provisioning with Ansible), Bedrock (WordPress boilerplate with Composer), and Sage (modern theme development with Laravel Blade, Vite, and Tailwind CSS). Together, they provide a modern, reproducible, and developer-friendly WordPress workflow.
Do you offer white-label Roots stack development?
Yes. We work as technical partners for agencies, providing Roots stack expertise while you maintain the client relationship. Your client gets expert work, you get the credit. All our work can be white-labeled with your branding.
Which hosting providers do you support?
We provision Trellis servers on Hetzner (EU), DigitalOcean (US), and Vultr (US/AU). For local Dutch and Belgian clients, we also work with managed/semi-managed WordPress hosting providers. Same expertise, different infrastructure based on your needs.
Do you handle migrations to Trellis?
Yes. We migrate existing WordPress sites to Trellis/Bedrock. This includes server provisioning, WordPress migration to Bedrock structure, theme conversion to Sage (if needed), and thorough testing. We’ve migrated sites from WP Engine, Kinsta, SiteGround, Cloudways, and various VPS setups.
Can you work with our existing Trellis setup?
Absolutely. We provide Trellis consulting, server audits, performance optimization, security hardening, and custom Ansible playbook development for existing Trellis setups. We can also upgrade your Trellis version and add new features to your server configuration.
What version of Sage do you develop with?
We develop with Sage 9, 10, and 11. Sage 11 (with Vite and Tailwind 4) is our current preference for new projects, but we maintain expertise in all versions. We can upgrade existing Sage themes or create new ones from scratch based on your requirements.
