WordPress.org Support
Some of our products are available on WordPress.org — including the Elayne theme. Once a product is published in the WordPress.org repository, you can also get help through its WordPress.org support forum. For Elayne, open a topic in the Elayne support forum.
Getting Started with Elayne
Elayne is free in the official WordPress.org theme directory (400+ active installs). Prefer full source access? Grab it from the GitHub repository. Below is everything you need to install the theme and build pages with patterns.
Installing from WordPress.org (recommended)
- In WordPress, go to Appearance → Themes → Add New Theme.
- Search for “Elayne”.
- Click Install, then Activate.
- Start designing in Appearance → Editor.
Installing from GitHub (full source)
- Download the latest release from the Elayne GitHub repository (the .zip under Releases).
- In WordPress, go to Appearance → Themes → Add New → Upload Theme.
- Upload the .zip, then click Install Now and Activate.
Building pages with patterns
- Create or edit a page in WordPress.
- Click the Toggle inserter button (the + icon, top left).
- Select the Patterns tab.
- Browse by category — Hero, Features, Testimonials, Pricing, CTA, and more (110+ patterns).
- Click a pattern to insert it, then customize the text, images, and colors.
- Choose a page template (Full, Wide, Centered) and Publish.
Applying a style variation
Style variations are pre-built design presets that restyle your whole site — colors, fonts, and spacing — in a single click. To apply one:
- Go to Appearance → Editor, then open the Styles panel (the half-circle icon in the top-right toolbar).
- Click Browse styles to see all of Elayne’s bundled style variations as thumbnails.
- Click a variation to preview it instantly across the whole site.
- Click Save to apply it. You can switch variations again at any time — nothing is overwritten.
Fine-tuning colors, fonts & templates
- In Appearance → Editor → Styles, open Colors to adjust the palette, backgrounds, text, and links site-wide.
- Open Typography to change fonts, sizes, and line height for headings and body text.
- Open Layout to set global spacing and content width.
- Edit headers, footers, and page templates visually under Appearance → Editor → Templates and Patterns → Template Parts.
Want more blocks? Install the free Elayne Blocks companion plugin to add Mega Menu, Carousel, FAQ Tabs, and Search Overlay. For full theme reference and developer setup, see the Elayne README on GitHub.

Frequently Asked Questions
Where can I download the Elayne theme?
Elayne is available two ways. The easiest is the official WordPress.org theme directory — install it straight from your dashboard under Appearance → Themes → Add New. For full source access, releases, and the changelog, use the Elayne GitHub repository.
Is the Elayne theme free?
Yes. Elayne is a free, GPL-licensed theme in the WordPress.org directory with 400+ active installations. You can install and use it at no cost. Paid help is only needed if you want custom development or priority support.
How do I install Elayne?
From your WordPress dashboard, go to Appearance → Themes → Add New Theme, search for “Elayne”, then click Install and Activate. To install from GitHub instead, download the latest release .zip and upload it under Appearance → Themes → Add New → Upload Theme. See the Getting Started with Elayne section above for step-by-step instructions.
How do I add patterns to a page in Elayne?
Create or edit a page, click the Toggle inserter (+) button, and open the Patterns tab. Browse by category — Hero, Features, Testimonials, Pricing, CTA, and more — then click any of Elayne’s 110+ patterns to insert it. Customize the text, images, and colors, choose a page template, and publish. No coding required.
How do I change Elayne’s colors, fonts, or overall style?
Go to Appearance → Editor → Styles. Elayne ships with multiple style variations that swap your entire site’s look in one click, and the Styles panel lets you fine-tune colors, typography, and spacing site-wide. Headers, footers, and templates are all editable visually under Appearance → Editor → Templates.
How do I apply a style variation in Elayne?
Open Appearance → Editor, click the Styles icon (the half-circle in the top-right toolbar), then click Browse styles to see Elayne’s bundled variations as thumbnails. Click any variation to preview it instantly across your whole site, then click Save to apply it. You can switch variations again at any time — none of your content is overwritten.
Where can I get help or open a support topic for Elayne?
Because Elayne is published on WordPress.org, you can open a support topic in the official Elayne support forum. For bugs and feature requests, use GitHub Issues. For custom development or priority help, contact us directly.
Do I need the Elayne Blocks plugin to use Elayne?
No. Elayne works fully on its own with all 110+ patterns. The free Elayne Blocks companion plugin is optional — it adds extra custom blocks (Mega Menu, Carousel, FAQ Tabs, Search Overlay) if you want them, and those blocks work with any theme.
How many patterns and style variations does Elayne include?
Elayne ships with 110+ professionally designed block patterns across categories like hero sections, features, testimonials, pricing, blog layouts, contact forms, and CTAs, plus multiple style variations and a full set of page and post templates.
Does Elayne work with WooCommerce?
Yes. Elayne includes basic WooCommerce support and shop patterns. For advanced stores that need quote mode, catalog mode, or custom blocks, our developer-focused Nynaeve theme is a better fit.
How do I update Elayne?
If you installed from WordPress.org, updates appear automatically under Dashboard → Updates and Appearance → Themes — just click update. If you installed from GitHub, download the newest release and re-upload it via Appearance → Themes → Add New → Upload Theme. Your content and settings are preserved across updates.
What are Elayne’s requirements?
Elayne requires WordPress 6.6 or later and PHP 8.0 or later (PHP 8.3 supported). No build process or page builder is needed — it works out of the box. The optional Elayne Blocks plugin requires WordPress 6.7+.
How do I report a bug in an Imagewize theme or plugin?
Open an issue on the GitHub repository for that specific product (Elayne, Nynaeve, Elayne Blocks, or Callandor). Search existing issues first, then include your WordPress version, PHP version, product version, and steps to reproduce the problem.
Is support free?
Yes. Community support through GitHub issues and documentation is free for all our open-source themes and plugins. For custom development, paid feature work, or priority help, use our contact form to discuss a quote.
Do the Elayne Blocks work with themes other than Elayne?
Yes. While Elayne Blocks was built as a companion to the Elayne theme, the blocks are theme-agnostic and work with any WordPress theme running WordPress 6.7+ and PHP 8.0+.
Where can I find documentation?
Every product includes a README in its GitHub repository covering installation, features, and usage, plus a CONTRIBUTING.md with developer setup details. Links to each are listed in the Our Products section above.
Can I request a custom feature or block?
Absolutely. Open a feature request on GitHub for community consideration, or contact us directly for custom development. We build custom blocks, patterns, and theme features as paid project work.
