WooCommerce Development — EU, US & Australia
WooCommerce Stores Built to Convert
Fast, scalable WooCommerce stores for SMEs across Europe and the US — from product catalogues and payment gateway integrations to subscription billing and custom checkout flows that drive revenue.
What We Build
Full-Service WooCommerce Development
From new store builds to performance overhauls and ongoing support — everything your WooCommerce store needs to sell, load fast, and stay secure.
Store Setup & Configuration
New WooCommerce store builds from scratch — product catalogue setup, shipping zones, inventory management, and admin configuration done correctly the first time. Built on Bedrock with a Sage theme, not a drag-and-drop builder. Get a store quote →
Payment Gateway Integration
Stripe, PayPal, Mollie, iDEAL, Klarna, and SEPA — configured correctly for your market. EU stores need different payment options than US stores. We handle the gateway setup, webhook configuration, and test checkout end-to-end before handing over. Payment setup →
EU VAT & US Tax Rules
EU VAT compliance (including OSS for cross-border sales), US state tax configuration via TaxJar or WooCommerce Tax, and GDPR-compliant checkout flows. Getting tax wrong costs real money — we configure it for your specific markets upfront. Tax configuration →
Checkout & Conversion Optimization
One-page checkout, guest checkout, cart abandonment reduction, upsell and cross-sell placement, and order bump configuration. Every friction point in the checkout flow that costs you sales — identified and removed. Optimize your checkout →
WooCommerce Performance
WooCommerce adds significant PHP overhead. We tackle it at the server level — Trellis VPS with FastCGI caching configured to safely cache dynamic store pages, Redis object caching, image optimization to WebP, and JavaScript deferral for non-critical scripts. Speed optimization details →
Ongoing Store Maintenance
WooCommerce, plugin, and theme updates tested on staging before production — broken stores cost sales. Monthly security scans, backup verification, and on-call support for issues that can’t wait. Available by the hour with no retainer or minimum commitment. Maintenance options →
Why Choose Imagewize for WooCommerce
EU & US Market Expertise
EU stores have different legal, payment, and tax requirements than US stores — and most WooCommerce tutorials are written for one or the other. We have hands-on experience configuring stores for both markets: EU VAT and OSS compliance, GDPR-compliant checkout, US state tax via TaxJar, and payment gateways that convert in each region.
Performance-First from Day One
WooCommerce on cheap shared hosting is slow by default. Every store we build runs on Trellis VPS hosting with FastCGI page caching, Redis object caching, and optimised images. A slow store loses customers at checkout — we make sure that’s not your problem.
Fixed-Price Quotes, No Surprises
WooCommerce projects are scoped in writing before we start. You get a fixed price for a defined deliverable — no hourly billing creep, no scope surprises. For smaller or ongoing work, we’re available by the hour with no retainer or minimum commitment. You choose the model that fits your budget.
We Take Over Existing Stores Too
Already have a WooCommerce store that’s slow, broken, or just not converting? We audit the existing setup — plugins, hosting, checkout flow, payment configuration — and give you an honest assessment of what needs fixing and what it costs. We take on stores that others have made a mess of.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long does a WooCommerce store build take?
A straightforward store with a configured theme, standard payment gateways, and a simple product catalogue typically takes 4–6 weeks. A full custom Sage theme with WooCommerce, complex shipping rules, subscription billing, or multi-currency support is 8–12 weeks. We agree on a timeline in the fixed-price quote before starting and stick to it.
Do you handle EU VAT and US tax configuration?
Yes. For EU stores we configure VAT rates by country, OSS compliance for cross-border sales, and GDPR-compliant checkout (explicit consent, no pre-ticked boxes). For US stores we set up state tax via WooCommerce Tax or TaxJar. We’ll tell you upfront what your obligations are and configure accordingly — getting this wrong has real legal and financial consequences.
Which payment gateways do you work with?
We work with Stripe, PayPal, Mollie (iDEAL, Klarna, Bancontact, SEPA), and most major WooCommerce-compatible gateways. For EU stores Mollie is often the best choice — it handles most EU payment methods in a single integration. For US stores Stripe is the default. We’ll recommend the right gateway for your market and configure it end-to-end including webhooks and test checkouts.
Can you take over a WooCommerce store someone else built?
Yes. We do this regularly. The first step is a store audit — we review the plugin stack, hosting environment, checkout flow, payment and tax configuration, and code quality. We’ll give you an honest picture of what we’re taking on and what it costs to stabilise or improve it. Some stores are a straightforward handover; others need remediation work first. We’ll tell you which before we start.
What hosting do you recommend for WooCommerce?
For new stores we recommend our Trellis VPS hosting on Hetzner — Nginx with FastCGI caching, Redis, PHP 8.3, and daily backups. WooCommerce is PHP-heavy by nature and shared hosting can’t handle real traffic without slowing down. That said, we can work with Kinsta, WP Engine, Cloudways, or your own VPS — we’ll configure as much performance tuning as the environment supports.
